STEAM receives Safe Routes to School Grant- The Traffic Brigade committee at A2 STEAM has dedicated a lot of time and effort the past two years to create safe conditions around the A2 STEAM campus.   This year with continued efforts by Carlene Colvin – Garcia MSU Safe Routes to School (SRTS) team has selected A2 STEAM at Northside for full action plan assistance! This assistance is subject to the grant conditions award from the Michigan Fitness Foundation/MDOT (October 1-September 30, 2017) and a separately executed Scope of Work between A2 STEAM and MSU (forthcoming).  Stay tuned for how you can be involved in this excellent opportunity.

Congrats to last year’s Second Grade – Their PBL project  will be featured at 500 N. Main Street / Museum on Main .  We are very excited that the work of our students is on display from the PBL project on community helpers.

Cardboard Challenge-  Thanks to Mr. Van Loo he has been teaching our Success Skill of Collaboration and the Design Process through the project known as the cardboard challenge.  Come see our first PBL project K-4 Friday in the MPR.

Last week I indicated we had 71 tardies on Monday.  None of these included late buses.  I want to extend a HUGE Thank You to all of you who have been adjusting your schedules to be on time.  We are down to 25 average per day.  While our goal is zero we appreciate the major efforts!
