Walk to School Day-  This fun event is happening Thursday at A2 STEAM.  Please look at the flyer sent by PTO for more information.

Hikone Visitors- We had a wonderful visit with the teachers from Hikone Friday at A2 STEAM.  We shared about our school and they were very interested in the PBL lessons and activities.  We look forward to our two students; Peter Nemecek and Erin Simmons visiting Japan and sharing their school culture and learnings with all of us.

PTO Meeting-  Reminder our PTO meeting is this Thursday in the Media Center from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.  Child care is provided.

Ribbon Cutting / Dedication Ceremony-  We will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting/ Dedication Ceremony for A2 STEAM on October 26th from 4:30 - 5:30 PM.    The event will host the Board of Education, Superintendent and the many people who contributed to the building of A2 STEAM.  This is also a dedication ceremony as our lead contractor, Michael Hamlin, passed away this summer unexpectedly.  He was a dear man and contributed to helping us at A2 STEAM not only through the construction but also with some of our student projects.

Our goal to eliminate tardiness-  Each week I will give you the average daily tardy count.  We hope that everyone will do their best to reduce this number to below 10!

This Week's Average per day tardy = 40  (Same as last week)

Social Media and Your Child Presentation Clague MS October 10th

How do you manage social media in your home?

This program will discuss family-centered approaches to managing technology and social media based on recent research. Topics will include 1) setting technology rules for the family (parents and children); 2) how parents should think about their children's online presence (e.g., should you share photos of your children on Facebook?); 3) managing drama and bullying among young people (and adults); and 4) how family time is changing with technology. Questions are welcome during the discussion and afterwards.

Our presenter is Sarita Schoenebeck, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan who studies the impact of social media use in family life.
