How do you manage social media in your home?
This program will discuss family-centered approaches to managing technology and social media based on recent research. Topics will include 1) setting technology rules for the family (parents and children); 2) how parents should think about their children's online presence (e.g., should you share photos of your children on Facebook?); 3) managing drama and bullying among young people (and adults); and 4) how family time is changing with technology. Questions are welcome during the discussion and afterwards.
Our presenter is Sarita Schoenebeck, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan who studies the impact of social media use in family life.
